The NEET Counselling 2024 will take place tentatively beginning in July 2024. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), the counselling body, is expected to release the NEET 2024 counselling date on July 6, 2024, one week after the NEET 2024 retest results are declared. MCC will issue the NEET 2024 counselling schedule PDF alongside the information bulletin, as well as update the MCC NEET UG counselling webpage.
Following the announcement of the NEET 2024 results on June 4, 2024, various queries were raised about the discrepancies in the scores and the large number of NEET 2024 toppers. During a Supreme Court hearing on the NEET 2024 outcome dispute lawsuit against NTA, it was announced that NEET 2024 counselling will not be delayed. It will be carried out in accordance with the MCC timetable, ensuring that the medical admission procedure is not delayed.
NEET 2024 was re-conducted on June 23, 2024, for 1,563 applicants who received grace marks. Their results will be announced on June 30, 2024. If any of these candidates opt not to take the re-exam, their scores will be altered to match their initial NEET 2024 score, minus grace marks. For individuals who will appear for the test, the re-NEET 2024 scorecard will be regarded final. The NEET 2024 counselling for all qualified applicants will take place concurrently.
There will be about six rounds of counselling for NEET UG 2024, which will be held tentatively till November 2024. The number of rounds may vary depending on the amount of available seats in each course. The procedure for allocating medical seats is through the NEET UG counselling process. The total number of MBBS and BDS seats is 1,09,170 and 27,868, respectively.
NEET counselling is held for admission to MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing seats under the All India Quota (AIQ), which accounts for 15%. The State Medical Counselling and Admission Authorities are in charge of performing the counselling procedure for 85 percent of State Quota seats. Only students who meet the NEET cutoff or qualifying marks will be able to participate in the medical counselling 2024.
